CHANGE IS HEER IN WARDS 2 AND 6
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Brampton, April 16, 2010) – Today, Urz Heer filed her nomination papers and officially became a candidate in the 2010 municipal election for the City of Brampton for Wards 2 and 6.  As an active community member engaged in projects and campaigns to raise awareness about social issues,  Urz is looking to transfer her social advocacy skills to City Hall.
“I decided to run for a number of reasons.  However, the most compelling reason was bringing change to a City Council that needs a fresh perspective and new ideas to help manage the challenges the city faces,” said Urz Heer.  “We need better transit, better zoning and better access to the services that can help us, such as a second hospital.  If elected, I am looking forward to working with my future colleagues at City Hall to deal with these and other pressing issues.”
The City of Brampton is a rapidly growing city and City Hall needs to focus on implementing sound policy to address the issues associated with rapid growth.  Looking to make a real difference and bringing valuable experience in building communities, Urz will bring change to City Hall with a fresh perspective and new ideas for a positive impact on Brampton’s future.
